I don’t wish to know that.

I was hunting for heartbeat samples for a notional musique concrète project, and under that rock I discovered a subculture of heart-sound, breath-sound and stomach-sound fetishists1. (This is what I ran into. I wasn’t curious enough to dig deeper.) I suppose intestinal pornography is more intimate than epidermal pornography?

Their interests appear to extend to EKG readouts, so for fictional purposes we can assume that they also extend to EEG’s and FMRI’s. Your hippocampal activity is TURNING ME ON!

1You’ll recall that Frank Zappa was arrested in San Bernardino for producing a pornographic audiotape. (link)

  1. Okay, this is pretty weird: last year I wrote a post-noir-ish story (still unpublished; the internet site/zine in question dicked me around) that surfed the edge of an imaginary underworld set in a parallel-world 50s/60s Romania/Hungary that had a blackmarket in medical-porn, including hospital-beds/defribs/etc they used as props and audio-recordings of heart-monitors, EEGs, etc. They sold films fetishing medical processes, etc. Haven’t found a decent home for the story yet – been too busy to shop it around. Weird coincidence, you mentioning that.

    • Bogdan used to do poppers. Then he met Brândusa, who would get on top and make him inject adrenaline into her heart. One thing led to another, and now he can’t get off at all unless he’s defibrillated. He makes his partners smear themselves with conductive gel.
